Surf camp was so much fun... was one of the faster learners (according to the instructors)... by the end of the class, they were already teaching me more advanced techniques. I only started falling when they told me to start doing the harder stuff.

Now I'm off to dive! Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

Back topside...

Relaxing day trip to Anilao. Just went on 2 dives. We tried out the newly finished Star Tollway that goes straight to Batangas... NICE! None of us had any idea where we were going, even the guys we were convoying with never tried the new road, but we all agreed to give it a shot. We got lost 2x, hahaha, but no big deal... now we know where the other 2 roads go! The new road is a much longer route, but the road is way nicer & it ends up being a shorter trip since there are no trikes or jeeps that stop along the way.

Going diving is gonna be so much easier now! :)

Another day... another dive!

rainy weekend...

Was supposed to go diving this weekend, but the weather & the fact that I woke up late Saturday morning, made me decide against going to Anilao.

It was a blessing since the weather in Anilao was bad as well, and my friends that were there decided to abort their dives. Not to mention the fact that one of my friends was attacked by a triggerfish ... hehehe... he probably pissed them off.

So I didn't miss anything. Ended up hanging out with some friends for DVD night! (I prefer hanging in someone's house for movie nights, rather than going clubbing.) Hopefully the weather will be better next weekend. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Finally! And just in time for our show this weekend!!!

Back from Anilao...

Went diving in Anilao over the weekend. It was part of an online magazine tourism shoot ScubaMagazine It felt good to get back in the water after all this time. Went on my 2nd night dive (I need my own light, resort stuff just sucks) and saw a lot of sleeping fish... hehehehe... I don't think they liked the fact that we woke them up... hahahaha.

We went looking for sharks on Sunday, but didn't get to find any... shucks... oh well, maybe next time! Hopefully the pictures should be up on that website within the next few days when the guys from LA get back home.

Back to work from the long weekend... not that 3 day weekends really affect me... hahaha... just decided to relax w/ my friends and bum around over the weekend. Trying to schedule some major work to be done on Annette sometime this summer while work isn't so heavy. I can't believe how hot it's getting this summer... :P

Back from the abyss...

Went on a dive day-trip yesterday... I missed it. I haven't gone diving in a looooong time, so it was good that I started again with a basic dive (although the 2nd dive was pretty rough with strong under currents) And now that I finally got my C-card for nitrox (after getting lost in the mail for 3 years), I don't think I'll ever go back to using regular air again! It's just so much safer (and honestly, the only reason I wanted to take nitrox is that it smells better than air..hahahaha)

Signs...

Ever feel like the universe (God, life, etc) is trying to tell you something, but you're just not listening (or just refuse to listen)? How do you tell the difference between a sign (a warning sign) and a challenge? How can you tell if life is just giving you a challenge to overcome... or a big flashing "DANGER!" sign? When does perseverance turn into stubbornness?

Sigh... if only life came with an instruction manual... but then again... maybe it does, and we're all just refusing to read/listen to it...

I never believed in this stuff... but I also don't believe in coincidence, I believe things happen for a reason... and things happen at the exact time they should. A lot of the stuff in the articles makes sense. The past 2 years of my life have felt like God stuffing me in a blender and hit 'puree'. It hasn't been fun at all. Dunno how much more of a beating my heart can take. Hahahaha!

WOW!

AMAZING weekend!!!! All I can say is... WOW. The Whaleshark experience is really breathtaking. Pictures can't describe it, not can they prepare you for the feeling you get when a fish 2x larger than a bus is coming at you! It's so magnificent and graceful! I'm definitely doing that again!

Blogging glitches... Part II

Ok, tech support has been receiving the same reports from other users... but so far, my site seems to be fixed... so my posts for the last week finally got published. Still checking to see what happened...

Been having problems with Blogger... it's mainly due to my website undergoing maintenance. Hope this post gets through...

STOOOOOP!!!!

After giving me 5 years of relatively trouble free driving... this includes 1 track day, numerous out of town fun runs, slightly agressive driving, and 3 situations that have called on Kookie's Emergency Braking training, it was time for me to replace Annette's brake system. I'm not quite sure, but I think they were still the original discs (Annette is now 18 years old) so it really was about time to replace them.

How to drive a car the BMW way... (BMW Driver Training)

Following the test drives offered at the BMW Expo last weekend, BMW also held special Driver Training classes for a limited number of people. Our class today was composed of approx 23 people. Although BMW offered the driver training during the expo, it was a much shorter version than the one we took today. (And I think drivers were only allowed to drive 1 or 2 cars around the course) The training is sponsored by Citibank Platinum so the other participants were all Citibank Platinum card holders.

The cars we got to drive were the following:

740iL (can you say Titanic?!?!?)

We were made to do the courses over and over, each time using a different Bimmer. Each car had 2 people in it, after one round, swap, then the other person got to hit the track....BUT since we were an odd number... and I was odd-man-out... I was told to do each car twice so as not to break the rhythm of the class!!! Hehehe... so I got to do the extreme braking and wet braking/cornering class twice!!! (The sacrifice!!! Hahahaha)

And for the sheer thrill of it, we were all given test rides (unfortunately only qualified drivers are allowed to demo the M-cars, which means, only Herbert was allowed to drive it) Although, I have to admit... riding an M-car with someone who knows how to handle it, is more fun than driving it and not knowing how to maximize the 420 (500 for the M5) horsepower under the hood. To actually feel a 500bhp car drift is something else all together (specially with the precision to drift through a narrow road cone course)... and to feel the grip of the M3 corner at race speeds is something else!!!

Yahoo!!! I think I got one of the 6 limited slots for BMW's Driver Training!!! We get a private lesson this coming Wednesday morning with the BMW Instructor Herbert Grünsteidl! I've never been so excited to wake up early on a weekday!!! Hehehehe

A little car joke on a Friday...

A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage A blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten. We all looked at each other and another customer asked, 'What is a seven-hundred-ten?'

She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one..' She replied that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there.

The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had its hood up and asked 'is there a 710 on this car?'

She pointed and said, 'Of course, its right there.'

I'm so happy for my friend Donna. Her boyfriend Kenneth, just proposed to her yesterday morning at the office! He had everyone at the office give her balloons with reasons why he loves her. It was so sweet! They'll be getting married this October 2008. Whuddathunkit? To think they just met about 2 years ago! :)

Great weekend

Had a blast this weekend! Traffic going and coming from Tagaytay was excellent, only took about 40 min to get there. Annette was happy that day! Hehehehe.

Bad weather!

Although Annette is equipped with wet weather tires, she doesn't really like heavy rains. I hope this storm is on its way out already.

Yay! It's Friday! (As if my week was that busy... hahahaha) Weekend is open-ended... we might try to go to Tagaytay again to catch the sunset and get better pics.

Tiring week! Went to Tagaytay w/ my friends on Saturday... I wonder why I'm the only person who likes the Carmona Exit... everyone seems to think that it goes through small side streets... Am I the only one who knows the "other" route that exits Sta Rosa!??! Weird. Everyone likes the Sta Rosa exit which is soooo slow (it's shorter, but everyone there is going really slow)

Oh well... if everyone thinks that Sta Rosa is the "nicer" route... who am I to ruin my "secret 160kph" route with more traffic.... ehhehehehe...

Handsfree (Wikipedia)

Handsfree is an adjective describing equipment that can be used without the use of hands (for example via voice commands) or, in a wider sense, equipment which needs only limited use of hands, or for which the controls are positioned so that the hands are able to occupy themselves with another task (such as driving) without needing to hunt far afield for the controls.

So why in God's name do some (bleep) hold their mobile phone in one hand, the mic of the handsfree with the other, and have the earpiece in their ear?!?!?! Congratulations... you've turned a handsfree kit, into a "needs both hands to operate" kit.

Another funny sight are those people that use the speakerphone fuction on their mobiles on really low tables, and then stoop down really low to be heard (About an inch from the phone)... it's funnier when they stoop down while standing cuz now they look like their bowing to the table.

Back from Subic

The 3 days in Subic for Ad Congress was fun! Although it could've been organized better, it was still nice. Wish I could've brought Annette to Subic, but thankful that I didn't since parking around the exhibit area was a bitch and all muddy.

4th quarter of the year... work gets really hectic this time of year. Wedding season. Everyone gets married this time of year... last year when I first started my business, I had at least 4 weddings a month. And I'm pretty sure the more established audio rental companies had more. I got so sick of hearing wedding music, I actually was so happy I had my iPod so I could listen to my own music. Hahahahaha.

Busy Saturday...

Whew... had 2 back-to-back events today. Had one in Mag:net at Bonifacio Highstreet, then had to rush to Polo Club for the BMWCCP's anniversary party. Still here in Polo club just relaxing with the guys and having a few drinks.

Q4 is really the busiest... hopefully I can expand enough to take on all the upcoming projects. :) Shopping time for more audio gear... hehehehe...

Just saw a Samsung TVC for their mobile phones that starts off, "Imagine a phone that reminds you what country you're in... Imagine a phone that tells you when night turns into day..." ... uhm, I think you've got bigger mental problems if you need a phone to remind you what country you're in, and to tell you if it's night or day... sheesh... Hahahahahaha...

Facebook requires less maintenance, and I think that's why people seem to like it. You don't really need to type or enter anything... just keep clicking and sending people things. But after a while, it gets kinda boring...hurray... I'm now a Vampire... sheesh...

BMW's Mobile Tradition Program allows ALL BMW owners to order any part (or so they say) from any dealer anywhere in the world for every model they've ever made. Placed an order for a few small parts that Annette needs and are difficult to find. BMW Phil claims parts will arrive in 2 weeks... not bad! Let's see how things turn out in 2 weeks if they really can fulfill my order!

Home Sweet Home!

Got back from the Bacolod/Dumaguete Tour of the Manila Symphony Orchestra w/ Helen Quach and pianist Cristine Coyiuto last Sunday. Very tired. Tour went really well. All shows were sold out!

A text has been going around that the planet Pluto will be visible this month of July... it will be 34.65 million miles from Earth... blah blah blah.

Anyway, just to put an end to all this... I'm sorry to say, Pluto won't be close to Earth at all. It will be about 2.8 billion miles from Earth, and not visible to the naked eye.

Mars, however, will be close to our moon on Aug 27, 2007. Not sure if this will be visible to the naked eye or not though. Will confirm as soon as I can get concrete info on this.

And will also confirm info on an upcoming meteor shower this August.

I don't know why I'm bothering to post... no one reads this blog... I guess it's just the need to get something out... even if the person it's intended for will never read it.

You may never know how much you hurt me. You may think the pain you feel is great... not as great as the pain you inflicted. I've never felt pain this great... I've never felt for anyone this much... to be given the happiest 2 months of my life... only to have it taken away in the most painful way imaginable.

Loss is never easy... specially when you know that it's the person's choice to want to leave, or at least want you out of their lives. The pain is worse than death, for at least death usually comes against the will of the people involved.

I should feel better now... I SHOULD. But I don't. It's been over a week, and all the things I do help me forget my pain for the moment, but only for the moment. I grieve, but it doesn't seem to help. What am I doing wrong? Why aren't things getting better?
